After we settled in for a day in our comfy pad in District 4, we were ready to see the city and bussed it into the centre to do some last minute purchases for our trip and find some decent roadmaps of the Mekong Delta.
What a crazy, mad place, completely incoherent, not adhering to any pattern in anything we could see. On one side of the road, a mall of designer goods and the other some shacks selling coconuts. All over the traffic is insane… We had to figure out how to even cross the road as pedestrians thinking how on earth we were going to cycle out of this mayhem in a couple of days.
We spent a while at the market, eating of course always a feature, and just wandering around the main area trying to get a handle on saigon whilst picking up SIM cards etc. All the time trying to not have kids dragged off by any of the people loving them to death.
Fun place but too much for jetlagged kids so we retreated to the peace of our apartment and the local pool and kept the centre visits short.
People everywhere taking pictures of the boys
