Some mish-mashed moments and highlights from our summer trip this year in Ireland:

Eating ninety-nines, collecting seaweed in torrential rain, dolmens, drinking “Jack the lad” beer in the sun on the beach, looking for fairies in Deer Park in Howth, eating fish ‘n chips, catching up with old friends, pretending to be a mermaid in the seaweed baths, kayaking on Lough Gill and stopping for tea at Beazie’s Island, riding bikes with Aran in Belleek Woods, mowing the lawn, clouds, Aran having to stop the car to see cows, brotherly love, Aran playing with my old toys from the attic, people shouting “‘Hon Meeyo”, seeing cousins, teaching Aran to say “How’s she cuttin'”, farmers in wooly jumpers with their shirt poking out the undone fly of their pants, going on tractors, having a back garden, it being rainy in the back garden and sunny in the front, old men in Easkey being described as “rough as a cow’s arse with a heart as big as a wheelbarrow”. Just some that spring to mind.
